Oleg Shikunov is a musician that has spent decades in an effort to develop art projects that push the boundaries and encourage experimentation.


The composer, conductor, director and teacher began his professional music education at the age of 7 in his native Belarus. Hard work and talent led to him earning a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting with 1st degree honors from the famed Moscow Conservatory in 1984.


He has taught as a professor of Choral Conducting, Vocal Fundamentals and Score Reading. His work and research led to the development of the Theory of Flexible Embouchure for vocal training, composing and performance.


It resulted in the founding and direction of a world renown vocal ensemble, which performed on the best European stages, often logging as many as 100 concerts a year.
Stepping beyond the role of teacher and conductor, Shikunov has staged professional theater and avant-garde happenings. He has produced TV, radio programs and live performances by world-class musicians.


He has composed oratorios and chamber music and has written popular songs and music for both theater and commercial purposes.


He writes poetry and recently noted, "I love art in any form. Only with art I am free and see right."
